What can you buy with $0.01? Not very much is the correct answer most of the time. However, $0.01 potentially goes a long way at PartyPoker because that single cent could eventually earn you a shot at a $100,000 or more guaranteed prize pool in the weekly Sunday Party tournament.
The Sunday Party is our biggest online poker tournament of the week. Currently, its guaranteed prize pool is set at a cool $100,000, but it has been twice that size during our popular online festivals. Buying into the Sunday Party sets you back $109, but thanks to the plethora of satellites running around the clock, you can win a seat for a mere $0.01 and a little bit of luck.
Type “Sunday Party” into the search bar withing the “Tourneys” tab of the PartyPoker software to reveal every satellite feeding into our flagship weekly event. Sort by Buy-in, and you’ll find The Sunday Party Centroll tournament costing, as their name suggests, one cent to enter.
Progress from the centrolls with a $1.10 Phase 1 entry in tow. Make it through Phase 1, and you’ll battle it out wit your fellow PartyPoker players in a $5.50 Phase 2. Bring you’re A-game to the table because navigating your way through a Phase 2 sees you sit down in the Phase Final, which takes place at 17:05 BST on Sunday with 50x $109 Sunday Party seats guaranteed!
There are other satellites, too. These cost $0.55, $3.30, and $16.50, with the latter awarding $109 tickets to the victors.
What to Expect From the Sunday Party
The Sunday Party shuffles up and deal every Sunday at 19:05 BST. Each entrant starts with 100,000 chips, and plays to a 12-minute clock where the blinds start at 500/1,000/100a. Late registration stays open for 12 levels, and you can re-enter up to three times should your first few bullets not go to plan.
As you can see from the table below, the blind structure is excellent, with anyone buying in during the last level of late registration still having a 25 big blind stack.
Did we mention that the Sunday Party is a progressive knockout tournament? Oh, yeah, it is! You will win a minimum of $12.50 for each opponent you send to the showers, but those bounties soon grow large because of how PKOs work. It is not uncommon for players at the final table to win four-figures worth of bounties!
Sunday Party Structure During Late Registration
The Sunday Party is a two-day affair, which allows the structure to be superb. Day 1 concludes when only 16 players remain. Those 16 survivors can enjoy a welcomed break from the action before returning to their seats at 20:05 BST on Monday. A champion is crowned on Day 2; will that champion be you?
Typical Sunday Party Final Table Results
The July 22 edition of the Sunday Party drew in a 1,091-strong crowd, who created a guarantee-busting $109,100 prize pool. Half of that princely sum went into the main prize pool, and the top 183 finishers won a share, while the remaining 50 percent was awarded as bounties.
With bounties included, everyone at the final table banked almost $1,500, with the eventual champion taking home just shy of $14,000! PartyPoker player “Gandalf Sax Guy” was that champion. Their prize was made up of a $6,428 main prize pool payout plus $7,564 worth of bounties, with the last player standing eliminating 15 opponents on their way to victory!
