
It was non-stop action here on Friday 20th September at Portomaso Casino in Malta, where days 1D and 1E of the €1m GTD Party Poker Grand Prix took place, along with day 1b of the MILLIONS main event.
After the conclusion of day 1E, the total number of entrants in the €1m GTD Grand Prix now stands at 1,287, with 968 from the starting flights at the festival added to the 319 participants who took part in online and pre-festival live day 1s. Today’s starting days 1f and 1g are expected to be the busiest so far.
Day 1D
The earlier of the two flights, day 1D concluded with 31 of the 208 entrants making it into the second day of this iconic Party Poker event. Two players from this heat crossed the 1m chip barrier. Victor Fryda from France posted the highest total on 1,060,000, with England’s Alex Peffly ending the day on exactly 1m chips. Day 1E
The later flight, which started at 6pm had 180 competitors and saw a further 27 players secure their continuation in the €1m guaranteed event. Italian Andrea D’Elia on a 1,058,000 chip stack ended up head and shoulder above the rest of the field. His nearest challenger was Luca Caravaggio, whose poker artistry left him with a 775,000 chip stack. The full chip counts from those who made the cut on day 1E follow.
